
Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL; Hermetia illucens) have emerged as an environmentally sustainable solution for addressing global challenges related to organic waste management, food security, and protein scarcity. BSFL efficiently convert organic waste into high-quality protein, lipid-rich biomass, and nutrient-rich frass fertilizer, thereby supporting a circular bioeconomy. Their application in aquaculture offers an eco-friendly alternative to conventional fishmeal, improving fish growth while reducing feed costs and pressure on marine resources. Frass enhances soil fertility, improves nutrient availability, and promotes plant health through natural disease resistance. Furthermore, government initiatives and increasing market demand are encouraging BSFL-based enterprises, making this technology a promising approach for sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, environmental conservation, and rural economic development.
